Popular Trail Connections

East Coast Greenway

3000 miles from Maine to Florida. Nationally connected, locally rooted trail for safe active transportation and recreation that transforms the way people move toward health, community and sustainability.

Bay Circuit Trail

230+ mile multi-use trail outside of Boston where you can walk, hike, ride, ski, and get some fresh air. The trail corridor is T-accessible and traverses Eastern Massachusetts’s beautiful natural landscapes, passing through 38 towns, with trail connections to many more. 

New Haven & Northampton Canal Greenway

80+ miles spanning from central MA to southern CT, including the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, Manhan Rail Trail, Southampton Greenway, Columbia Greenway Rail Trail, and Southwick Rail Trail.

Bruce Freeman Rail Trail

20 miles running north/south connecting the communities of Lowell, Chelmsford, Westford, Carlisle, Acton, Concord, Sudbury, and Framingham

Minuteman Bikeway

This 10 mile bikeway has become a new type of “Main Street” where neighbors and strangers alike come together while riding, walking, or skating on the path. In 2008, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy inducted the Minuteman Bikeway into the national Rail-Trail Hall of Fame.

Charles River Reservation

20+ miles along the banks of the Charles River, via the Alewife Brook Parkway and Watertown Cambridge Greenway
