Liability and Risk Statement
This is a statement by which the Site informs you of the associated risks inherent to cycling, walking, hiking and general use of multi-use paths as an activity. While our Site publishes a variety of routes along the MCRT trail for general use, these are only intended as an assistance tool for the user, who shall make their own decisions regarding the actual route and the manner of using each route, based upon their fitness levels, skills, equipment, terrain, weather, and other conditions.
It is the responsibility of the individual user to assess their own abilities against the route that they choose to use from within the Site route selections. If you choose to cycle on the MCRT, we recommend that all cyclists wear helmets and gloves and eyewear when cycling. We also recommend that you check out the most up to date information available for every route and area shown on this website, using other resources that might be more up to – alternative maps are often provided. Our trail constantly alters and changes, and you should be aware that it is your responsibility to check their worthiness and accessibility.
Certain parts of trail routes and on-road work-arounds may have hazardous sections. It is for the user to choose how and if they tackle these. There are some areas where it may be safer and more sensible to walk than to ride a bike. Cyclists must also adhere to any guidance or laws applicable to the country and state in which they are cycling. We do not condone any cycling which flouts any guidance or laws governing use of any road, trail or byway.
All trail users have a personal duty to make themselves aware of local laws, rules and governance, including those with regards to type of vehicles allowed on the trail and their safe usage.
Routes included on the Site are published simply as a means of assisting trail users in their own decisions on where to walk or ride. It is ultimately your decision to use a suggested trail route that is shown on our website. The condition of all routes is outside of our control and should be taken into account at the time of your choosing to ride it or otherwise.
