About MCRT Berlin

Berlin is an agricultural and residential community that once supplied Boston with vegetables, eggs and dairy products, with a large shoe factory.  Agriculture has shifted to equestrian farms and orchards.  Several large conservation areas provide opportunities for hiking.

The MCRT in Berlin
The MCRT corridor in Berlin is about 4 miles long. The Easternmost 2.3 miles is former MBTA corridor now leased by DCR for future development as part of the Wayside section of the MCRT. Much of this is currently a walking path. The majority of the Western 1.7 miles (to Clinton) is privately owned, and a MCRT route in this section is not yet established. The Berlin Trail Trust is actively working to develop the MCRT in Berlin as a valuable community resource.
